Student arrested for attempting to steal iPad from Ablah Library
A student was arrested and booked into jail on one count of theft after attempting to steal an iPad from Ablah Library.
A student had checked out an iPad from the library and was working there when he noticed that the iPad was missing from his bag, Wichita State Police Chief Robert Hinshaw said in an email.
The student looked around and noticed a man walking away with the iPad, Hinshaw said. The student approached the man, who is also a student, and got the iPad back before calling WSU police, Hinshaw said.
Campus police were dispatched around 3:40 p.m. to Ablah on April 20, and a 20-year-old man was arrested and booked into jail.
Hinshaw said the man is no longer in jail. Hinshaw did not know the circumstances of his release.
