Jody Adams timeline: Leading the Shockers

2008-09

Adams guided the Shockers to their first double-digit win season  since the 2005-06 seasons. The roster in which she accomplished this only had nine players.

The team scored the second highest team semester GPA on record with a cumulative 3.47 as a team.

2009-10

The team was named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Top 25 Team Honor Roll for a second-straight year, with the 14th-best GPA nationally in 2008-09.

Guard Jessica Diamond was named to the MVC All-Freshman Team after finishing fourth among Valley freshmen in scoring. Diamond notched one of four MVC Newcomer-of-the-Week awards handed out to Shocker players in 2009-10.

Wichita State was selected as one of eight first-round host schools of the inaugural Women’s Basketball Invitational.

WSU won their first post-season win in Akron with a victory of 67-61.

2010-11

The team, led by Adams played in the WNIT for the first time since 2000 while posting a 10-8 record in Missouri Valley Conference competition, the program’s best conference mark since the 1999-2000 campaign.

2011-12

Shockers made history by matching what was the program’s previous-best win total (20) and by securing WSU’s first-ever victory in the WNIT.

2012-13

Adams brought WSU to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 2013

The Shockers ended the year on a season-long five-game winning streak, since 2002-03.

Adams was named the MVC Coach of the Year.

2013-14

Adams coached the Shockers to their second straight Missouri Valley Conference regular-season and post-season titles.

The team collected a school-record 26 wins and earned a berth into the NCAA tournament for the second year in a row.

The team scored the most points  in Shocker history with 2,346 and led the MVC in offensive scoring.
